Dear Gordon
The delivery by your wife of 12 copies of THE DEEPER FAITH and one copy of THE WAY OF SALVATION is deeply appreciated.
Enclosed is my check covering the printed prices of these books. They are worth a great deal more than the prices at which they were sold. I value them highly for their unqualified obedience to God's authority and your excellent presentation.
You are indeed a man of God!
Thanks to Him!

This letter from Gordon Girard of the Seventh Reformed Church to "Luo" on May 31, 1990, discusses an enclosed article, book deliveries, and a future visit.

Girard enclosed part of a page from Christian Renewal (May 28, 1990), suggesting Luo might find a reference to himself "amusing".

He asked "Jerry" to deliver 12 copies of The Deeper Faith and a used copy of The Way of Salvation (or The Ordo Salutis), which he considers his best book.

Girard intends to accept an invitation to visit Luo and Mrs. Peters but is delayed by "pressing problems".

A postscript notes that Jerry promised to deliver the books that day.

Dear Leo

The enclosed is part of page 6 from Christian Renewal, May 28, 1990. You will probably find the reference to yourselt amusing, that is, if you can stand back and smile st this stupid attempt to smear your name and reputation.

I have tried to reach Jerry by phone before writing this note, Sone three weeks ago when he stopped by the house, I asked him to deliver 12 coples of THE DEEPER FAITH and a single used copy of THE WAY OF SALVATION, Baker did cot put out a paperback of the latter, and the hard cover edi tion was published in 1960; thus only an occsional used copy Is available. I regard the WAY OF SALVATION (actually, The Ordo Salutis) as the best of the books I have written.

I do intend to accept your king invitation to visit Mrs. Peters and yourself at your hone. Belleve me, I am not dragging my feet but have encountered some pressing problems that must be dealt with immediately.

Sandrely, In Christ,

Hardoy

Finally reached Jerry on his car phone . He promised to deliver them before the day is over. If he doesn't please let we know. GG
