"FALSE PHILOSOPHY

Behind the philosophy of the Human Compromise which resulted in the sin of Adam and Eve was the desire to have life apart from obedience to God. This became the Original Sin of Man.
So enamored was man with this capability, that in all of his various attempts to find God, he has never considered that this basic sin needed to be repented of. In effect man has chosen a god to his own liking, in which he is not subservient to, or obedient to God. From such a viewpoint it becomes obvious that all of mankind’s religion is founded upon this basic sin and is therefore a false philosophy. It has become a religious philosophy that is in opposition to the God of the Bible. It is a philosophy that seems to satisfy man’s desire to have life apart from God’s conditions, and is very seductive in that it is not necessarily anti-God, but is in reality a very subtle substitute. Therefore, most individuals will not take the time to compare it with the scriptures to see if these things be so.
Therefore we can see that in one way or another, man’s way of thinking becomes his “god” and as a result man is actually in bondage to his own mind-set and is in effect his own god. The basic reason is that since the sin of Adam man has never acknowledged his need of a savior. This is not the Savior that man has conjured up in his own mind, but a Savior sent by God. The Savior that came into the world as a man, so that he could die in our place on the cross. Therefore, not only did He die for our sins, but in dying He had overcome the bondage that we were in as a result of our own mind-set. In effect our faith, therefore is to be put in a Person, and not in the philosophy that we have adopted.
The Roman church as well as many “Christian” churches have adopted the false philosophy that the sinner has already accepted Jesus as his Savior. They do not say in so many words that it is our own will that determines our destiny, but they infer it. They say that it is up to us whether we will accept or reject Christ. They have thus made it a matter of the human will to accept Christ.
The Bible states very clearly that it is God’s will that no one should perish. Therefore, it cannot be a matter of the human will whether we should be saved or not. We all know that there is such a thing as “free will.” That is, man has the choice to accept or reject what is being presented. In doing so, man has in fact fallen back on his own understanding, rather than accepting the scriptures that state we are born dead in trespasses and sins. Consequently we do not have the power within ourselves to come to Christ. We are so totally depraved that unless God would make it possible, we never could be saved. This is the reason that Jesus said, “No man can come to Me unless the Father Who has sent Me draw him; and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:44).
It is my contention that since we all are born sinners, we all, therefore, have fallen back on the philosophy that has in effect become our “god.” We have all, in effect, become humanists who rely entirely upon our own understanding. It is also my contention that there are no such things as “Christians” or “non-Christians.” We are all born into this world without any understanding whatsoever of God, and we have been separated from God from birth. Consequently, it is a matter of God making the choice of whom He will bring back to Himself. This is the whole matter of predestination.
The Christian community consists primarily of “worldly” saints that have no understanding of what it means to be born again. They go around presenting a “False Word,” a “False Gospel” and a “False Christ” to the world. They will not present the Gospel as it really is; that is, that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, and that unless God, in His sovereign will, chooses to elect us and thus regenerate us, we will never be saved. These worldly saints have for the most part, fallen back on their will to be saved, and therefore are actually believing in a false god. We all know that God has created us in such a way that we have a choice of whether we will accept or reject God.
It is because of this natural ability, that we in the Christian community have presented a Gospel that appeals to the natural man. We have in effect, reduced God to our level, instead of realizing that unless we come to grips with our natural depravity, we will never be saved. This can only be done as God would give us the understanding of the seriousness of our sin, which has led to our spiritual depravity.
When God, in His sovereign election, has given one the will to be saved, he or she will, at that time, believe in the one true God, and will therefore be saved. This is the reason that no one can boast about their salvation. The Bible also states that we have all been elected before the foundation of the world. This is a very serious matter because many in the Christian community have adopted the “false philosophy” that we all have a choice whether we will be saved or not. This is a matter that will have to be dealt with very seriously because in so doing we have actually reduced God to our own level, instead of realizing that God is sovereign in all matters, and that we have been born with a natural disposition to sin which is pretty hard to get rid of.
If we would only realize that we have all been born dead in trespasses and sins, we would then realize that we do not have the power within ourselves to come to Christ. In effect, all of mankind has adopted the philosophy that we can have life apart from God’s conditions, and therefore have become humanists who rely entirely upon our own understanding. We have in effect made ourselves into little gods, who can determine our own destiny.
The Christian community should have realized that in the sin of Adam, man chose to become his own god, and as a result, man became dead in trespasses and sins. Therefore, as a natural result, man could not have an option as to whether he could be saved or not. This would have to be entirely God’s decision. This is what election is all about.
Man’s problem is that he is too proud to admit his sins and confess them before God. Consequently, man has set up his own religious system, in which he has in effect, made his own god who will fit into his own way of thinking. Man has made his god in his own image and likeness, and not in the image and likeness of God. The true and living God is a God of wrath and judgment upon all who have sinned against Him.
He is also a God of love and mercy upon all who have put their trust in Him. But the problem is that we are all sinners, and therefore we have all sinned against Him. This is the reason that we all need a Savior. Not a Savior that we have contrived in our own minds, but a Savior sent by God, who came into the world as a man, and died in our place on the cross. Therefore, our faith has to be put in a Person, Jesus Christ, and not in the philosophy that we have adopted.
The Roman church as well as all “Christian” churches have fallen back on the philosophy that man has a will of his own to be saved, and consequently, they have not put their faith in the one true and living God, but in their own understanding. They have in effect put their faith in a false god. They have fallen back on the philosophy that God has given us the free will to choose Him or reject Him.
They have not realized that in the sin of Adam, man had fallen back on his own understanding, and as a result man has become spiritually dead, and therefore cannot choose God. It is only as God would give us the will to believe in Him, that we would be saved. This is the reason that no one can boast about their salvation. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
The Bible also teaches that our salvation is only in Jesus. It is also my contention that there is only one true and living God. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is the God of the Old and New Testaments. He is the Creator of all things. He is the Sustainer of all things. He is the Judge of all things. He is the Savior of all who put their trust in Him. This is the God that we have to do with. He is the God of all grace, mercy, and truth. He is also the God of all wrath, judgment, and condemnation upon all who have sinned against Him. This is the God that we have to come to grips with in our personal character. A God that we cannot manipulate or twist to our own liking. A God that is in total control of His entire creation.
